Leadership

In high school I participated in a Leadership course for multiple years. From this I gained a deep love of helping others and gained the skills to advocate for others. This has influenced my life in many ways, notably that I felt confident enough to volunteer as the Cohort Representative for three out of the four semesters of my Bachelor of Education program. In this role I attended meetings where I represented the voices of my cohort and also relayed the information back to my fellow classmates. I took the role seriously making sure to connect with everyone in my cohort and get in touch with everyone’s opinions and feelings. It was an extra commitment in a demanding program but I don’t regret it at all. I love that I could serve others by being their voice and making sure they were heard. I loved listening to my colleagues, connecting with everyone, and making a difference in our program. I can definitely see myself continuing to take on leadership roles in the future.
