The Truth and Reconciliation Calls To Action are an inspiration to me as a person, but especially as a teacher. I feel honoured that I will be in a position to work towards some specific Calls To Action. The Indigenous, people of Canada have given us clear-cut steps for us to work towards reconciliation. They have done the work to figure out what we as non-Indigenous people need to do to work towards mending the relationship between the First Peoples and Canadians, the least we can do is put in the effort to realise these Calls To Action. I think it is important that we as teachers refer back to and reflect on these often to make sure that we are truly representing them in a good way, not only in our classrooms but in our lives as well.
